UnDone is a to-do list application, built with Ruby on Rails that consists of 3 models (users, tasklists, and tasks). Users are required to sign up or sign in to use the application and the authentication is handled by Ruby's Devise gem. Once signed in users have the ability to create multiple tasklists and add, delete, or complete tasks from the lists.
Viva la Vegan identifies vegan friendly menu options at restaurants. Developed by a team of three web development students, this application has an AngularJS front-end that runs on a Rails API backend. As a game show fanatic, I thought I'd be cool to recreate my own version of Jeopardy. This Jeopardy style trivia game was the first web application I had ever built so the functionality is pretty basic but I plan to refactor and make it better in future.
Prior to becoming a developer, I spent five years in the Healthcare IT field assisting hospitals with the transition to an electronic health record and training end users on software functionality . I had the opportunity to work frequently with programmers and developers to troubleshoot issues, discuss modifications to the software, and convey customer requests for system enhancements. These interactions piqued my interest in learning to code because I no longer wanted to be the middleman between the client and the developers; I wanted to be the person building the solutions.
